Cuban stamp with SPECIMEN overprint, issued from 1911 to 1913, one cent.
Issued to honor Cuban Patriots, this two cents stamp is in honor of Gen. Maximo Gomez.
SPECIMEN or MUESTRA, is a stamp or bank note usually with one or two round holes with this legend. The American Bank Note which was the printer of stamps and bank notes for the Cuban Goverment at the time, used to send these SPECIMENS to the Cuban goverment to obtain e final approval before printing the regular issue.
