A very complete visitor’s guide. It starts by offering a history of Cuba from the day Columbus stepped on it shores. Then it goes into synopsis of the history Cuba by giving the most relevant years of its history. All of the preceding compacted in about 5 pages.
All other relevant information about geography, including population fluctuations and commerce by province.
It covers the passport and visa requirements, US and Canadian citizens not only didn’t need visas to enter the country, they were not even required to have a passport. Most major European countries, and most Latin American citizens were required to have passport but no visas were required.
Then starts giving hints to travelers, listing and describing 48 destinations, from Morro Castle to the Botanical Gardens.
There are a few folded maps and ads from the most important tourists attractions.
Detailed information about all tourist destinations in the Island, traveling information, even train and buses schedule. It shows lots of useful information for the tourist. List of restaurants, advertising ads from bars, restaurants, nightclubs, transportation, banks, etc.
This issue published in English, 286 pages of high quality paper of 5 X 7 inches. In excellent condition, original cover in beautiful and firm colors, as well as the back and interior covers. Interior pages in excellent condition, not bridlle paper as one may expect in these old publications.
This guide was not one of those few pages pamphlets that were given away, It was not cheap either, in 1948 $1.25 would have bought a nice lunch.
