1937 Escritores y Artistas SET of 23 stamps

1937 Scott Cat. # 340 to 354, and C24, C29, E10, E11. Mint, never hinged. Were sold by the Cuban Post Office for 3 days, Oct. 13-15, during which no other stamps were sold. They were postally valid for the full face value. Proceeds from their three days sale above 30,000 pesos were paid by the Cuban POD to the Association of American Writers and Artists. Each stamp honoring each of the 23 countries of the Americas on that date. Remainders were overprinted "SVP" (without Postal Value). Scott Catalog price for "Set, never hinged $140.00. Price: $75.00
